This class will cover the following topics:
We have a complete program for electric and other alternative fuel source vehicles for towing and recovery. The training emphasizes safety procedures for working on and around EVs, including de-powering vehicles and using proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
This includes awareness level information, and our electric/alternative fuel EV-clever app, which is available on Google and Apple for a 30-day free trial. This app has complete info via quick links for tow/recovery/rescue for over 3,500 passenger cars and over 2,000 heavy-duty trucks, buses, and last-mile delivery vehicles.
The course will focus on electric and alternative fuel vehicles and the following:
• terminology and definitions
• means to identify
• stabilization
• lock-out/tag out
• spotlight the changing construction of these vehicles
• introducing & utilizing manufacturers' emergency response guides
• working with the electric vehicle app
• understanding rescue cards
• accessing manufacturers towing and recovery procedures
• Tesla Strap/// soft rigging
• off-gassing
• risk of igniting, personnel safety stratagies
• re-igniting
• submersion: freshwater/salt water
• storing vehicle recommendations and best practices
